Step 6 Assemble the rose. • Lay out Petal 4 in sets of six petals. Place a small dot of tacky glue at the base of each petal. For each set, stack and slightly stagger petals, gluing them together. You will end up with six petal stacks. • Lay out Petal 1 in sets of three petals. Place a small dot of tacky glue at the base of each petal. For each set, stack and slightly stagger petals, gluing them together. You will end up with six petal stacks. • Combine a set of Petal 1 with a set of Petal 4 stacks. Place a small line of tacky glue on a Petal 1 stack, and place a Petal 4 stack on top of it, gluing them together. Repeat with the other fi ve sets. You will end up with six petals sets. • Place a line of tacky glue on only fi ve of the six petal sets. Holding the unglued set in your hand, place one of the glued sets behind it, stacking and staggering slightly. Repeat with the other petal sets, to form a slightly circular pattern. • Once you have glued all the stacks, close the circle of petals by gluing the base of the petals. Press fi rmly. • Place a line of tacky glue at the base of the fringed stamen. Slide the stem through the center of the ring of petals, and press fi rmly, to glue the stamen to stem. TIP: Don't worry if the glue gets on some of the petals; just gently remove it. Any residue of the glue will dry clear. • Place dots of tacky glue at the base of each of the petals in the Petal 3 set. Working in one direction, glue each of the petals in a circular fashion, slightly overlapping each other. • Repeat with the Petal 2 set. Step 5 Shape the sepals. • Cup each of the seven pieces of Leaf/Moss crepe paper by placing your two thumbs in the center and gently press inward, to form a sepal. Step 7 Add the sepals to the base of the rose. • Lay out the seven sepals, and place a dot of tacky glue at the base of each. Working in one direction, glue each of the sepals in a circular fashion, slightly overlapping each other, to cover the base of the fl ower. • Cut a 5-inch strip of stem wrap, and wrap it around the stem, starting at the base of the fl ower. TIP: Cutting short strips of stem wrap keeps it from twisting and binding up. • Allow the fl ower to dry completely.
