The career choice that I made was always an extension of being present for the kids. Many couples can' t work together, let alone in a family business. How do you make it work? She Said Larry and I have always had a good time together. We try to be as professional as possible. We enjoy each other's company and our kids, even if they're getting older and looking to start their own families. We've always been a close-knit family and it really helps to be considerate, thoughtful, caring, and successful with each another. He Said We have a rule in the family that you treat others the way you want to be treated. You respect your last name. Be honorable and do the right thing. Because when you're fortunate and working hard, you're able to give back to the community. I know philanthropy is a big part of your life. Are there particular causes that you support? She Said We support the Sarasota Ballet and Suncoast Charities for Children. We're big believers to giving back to charities especially the American Cancer Society. Between Larry, my mother, my father, and my sister all had cancer recently. It's really touched our lives. My family died young, so cancer and anything related to children. You do tend to see a bigger picture. It's not about money; it's about giving back and being a good person. He Said When I first found out I had cancer, I was 28 years old. We really know what mortality is all about. Today, I'm a three-time cancer survivor. W hat was the best piece of advice that you received when you got married? She Said I tell people that there are peaks and valleys. When you have one of those days, just reach for your wedding album and look through it together. He Said I'm a really sentimental guy. I've taken thousands of photos and hours of videos of the children growing up. Sometimes, I really love to just sit back and watch the videos. W hat is the big gest mistake couples make today? He Said I think a lot of people think that getting married makes something different happen. She Said You're not going to be able to change. If you're with a person, and they're a certain way before you get married, they're not going to be any different after. You have to make yourself happy. You have to work as a team. Is it easy? No. Marriage is not an easy walk in the park every day of your life. W hat does a perfect day look to you? She Said We go out to brunch and then boating or just having fun together. I like to be with family and good friends, good food and good music. As long as we have our health, we're happy. He Said I like to go to on the boat, go for a walk on the beach, or sit on a chair and relax a little bit. A good day is surrounding yourself with honorable people that have the same values as you and try to enjoy life as much as possible.
