Ranked as number 33 on Forbes Magazine's list of the "e World's 100 Most Powerful Women," Peng co-founded Alibaba and remains the company's Chief People Officer. Formerly known as Small and Micro Financial Services Company, Ant Financial is compromised of several units: Alipay, China's version of PayPal; AliPay Wallet, a mobile payment service provider; and MYbank, the commercial banking divisions. e company, worth an estimated $35 and $40 million, is poised to launch an IPO in the coming year. In a country where women remain second- class citizens, Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi is the first woman to hold a ministerial post in the United Arab Emirates. In 2004, she was appointed the country's Minister of Foreign Trade. Today, Qasimi serves as the Minister of International Cooperation and Development, leading the oil-rich nation with a GDP of $402 billion into an unprecedented amount of philanthropy. In 2013, UAE contributed $5.4 billion to foreign nations, up significantly from $1.6 billion a year earlier. Under Qasimi's direction, the country committed to give $12 million for Syrian children and refugees last year. As the first female President of Chile, Michelle Bachelet is celebrating a few milestones for women's rights in her political career. e former Minister of Health and National Defense and pediatrician has served as President for the last 10 years. After winning her reelection last year, Bachelet vowed to enact 50 reforms in her first 100 days, including a major education overhaul and constitutional reforms. To date, she has accomplished 92% of her goal. She is also the founding executive director of UN Women and remains focused on improving the rights of women in her home country and aboard. Last February, Bachelet signed a call to action with the United Nations Development Fund for Women to close the inequality gap. Women continue to break down barriers and pave the way for the next generation of female leaders from philanthropy to politics to sports to the corporate boardroom.
