hat originally began as a private botanical
gardens in 1919, this Southwest Florida landmark
has now expanded to include more than 70 species of
wildlife including primates, bears, cheetahs, lions and giraffes.
With a variety of shows and demonstrations and nearly a
mile-long trail of animal habitats, the Naples Zoo is a full
day of educational family fun. The Primate Exhibition Cruise
guides patrons past the zoo habitats of the lemurs, apes and
monkeys. The zoo's most famous tenant Uno, the one-eyed
Florida panther, was recently featured in National Geographic.
His story inspired the Naples Zoo to create a panther
rehabilitation habitat to help the endangered state animal.
