ENTERTAINMENT Amy Schumer Equal Parts Funny and Feminist Presidential candidate Carly Fiorina means business. As one of the most powerful women in corporate America, Fiorina served as the chairman and CEO of Hewlett-Packard — the first female head of a Fortune 500 company — before she was forced out in 2005. Named by Fortune as the most powerful woman in business, Fiorina says she decided to run for president because of the growing disconnect between regular people and the political class. Supporters praise Fiorina for her direct and eloquent style of speech and say her experience in the business world is paramount to making decisions as a world leader. She is no stranger to politics, though, having served as Republican John McCain's advisor during the 2008 election. In 2010, she ran for the Senate winning a three way race but, ultimately losing to the Democratic incumbent. POLITICS Carly Fiorina Republican Presidential Candidate Bringing a fresh brand of feminist comedy to light, Amy Schumer is taking the world by storm and adding humor to some harsh realities. Schumer, who appeared as a contestant on NBC's "Last Comic Standing" and Comedy Central's "Reality Bites Back," also secured roles in series such as "30 Rock," "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and HBO's "Girls" before landing her own show in 2013. "Inside Amy Schumer" features the sharp wit that put her on the map in the form of scripted vignettes, stand-up clips and street interviews. Although the show is proudly feminist, it still attracts a large male audience. Her sketches are broad and entice everyone to laugh, but some of her points require the perspective of what it's like to be a woman today. Her comedic brilliance and firm feminist stance are a very welcome and long overdue addition to American television.
