Design 20 | FLORIDA HOMES MAGAZINE DESIGN Indigo West Melanie Denicourt I Inspirat ion Indigo West is the latest retail creation of Melanie A nn Denicourt located in the heart of Downtown Sarasota on Pineapple Avenue. At the end of 2014, Denicourt closed her popular Main Street boutique, Coquillage, to open in the new location with a new name, Indigo West. Fortunately for shoppers, she now has even more space to showcase her unique European coastal chic style. Indigo West is a blend of Old World elegance and the casual beach lifestyle. Bleached woods, weathered antique finishes and muted tones of greys and taupes are highlighted with vibrant pops of color from her splendid collection of fine pillows and accessories. While the Indigo West style has a casual feel, it is more refined than the shabby chic look. e furniture pieces appear to be treasured antiques rather than flea market finds. Surprisingly though, its furnishings are not old, but rather new reproductions. Many of Denicourt's suppliers use finishing techniques passed down for generations, which accounts for the authentic, aged patinas. In her new space, Denicourt now offers professional finishing classes and a line of custom paint to help turn your own pieces into vintage treasures.
