said. "Paul would have the rest of the
night to do his own thing." Weekends
were left for couple and family time with
Paul's daughter, who is now 11 years old.
Since then, Meredyth has left the hustle
of early morning television news, she
now works from her home office. But
old habits die hard — she still likes to
rise early, grab coffee and delve into her
day.
He Said "We had to relearn patterns.
Now we're always together," jokes Paul.
Meredyth and Paul share custody
of Paul's daughter and love to plan
vacations as a family and as a couple,
something they both agree plays to their
strengths.
She Said "We made a list of all the
places we wanted to visit, domestic and
international," says Meredyth. This past
summer the couple visited Amsterdam,
London and Stonehenge.
The pair is also passionate about
the ethical treatment of animals,
and supports charitable causes like
the national bone marrow donor
organization, Be the Match, an
organization that holds a special place
in Meredyth's heart.
She Said "Years ago I did a story of
a woman who was in need of a liver
transplant. The man [Ken Schuler]
who came forward shared the woman's
rare blood type and volunteered to
be tested. They became the first
patients
to undergo stranger-to-stranger
living liver donor transplants in the
world!
To do that he is my hero and I
always say that (tears up). Because
of that
story, I've been involved with
Be the Match and now Paul is
involved as well and registered on
the bone marrow donor list."
And that, they say, is a match
made to last.
