This year's Renaissance Luncheon will celebrate the Women's Resource Center of Sarasota County's 35th anniversary of providing a legacy of service and will feature an inspiring and empowering guest speaker — Ericka Dunlap, a former Miss America who has a foundation that invests in the lives of young women. Betty Schoenbaum will be honored as "Renaissance Woman of the Year," in appreciation for her years of dedication and ongoing support to the Women's Resource Center's mission. Her generosity and legacy of giving to our community is remarkable. Teri Hansen of the Gulf Coast Community Foundation will present the award and touch on women in philanthropy making a difference in our community. Ericka Dunlap captured a par t of history by becoming the first —and only to date— black woman to be crowned Miss Florida in the 80-year history of the pageant.
