GravitasMag.com | 19 TECHNOLOGY Caroline Ghosn Tech Entrepreneur It is believed that by the year 2020, millennials will be taking over about half of the U.S. workforce. Although these stats may seem promising to the younger generation, entering the 'real world' at a time where the economy isn't in the greatest shape can be worrisome, but that's where Levo comes in. Graduating from Stanford in 2008, New York City entrepreneur, Caroline Ghosn, is making the news for starting Levo, an online company that offers resources for millennials to seek guidance and connect with older professionals in their desired fields. Some of the mentors featured on the website include Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook and Warren Buffet. Levo currently has more than 9 million members, more than 100 mentors and 28 local chapters worldwide. POLITICS Samantha Power American Ambassador to the United Nations Author and diplomat, Samantha Power, 43, is America's youngest ever U. N. Ambassador. Emigrating from Ireland to the United States at the age of 9, Samantha Power has definitely made a name for herself in American politics. Before becoming the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations in August 2013, this Yale and Harvard alumna has previously worked as a professor at Harvard, a political journalist and is the author of several award-winning books. Power is currently making the news for speaking on behalf of the U.S. in the U.N.'s efforts towards combating the Ebola outbreak, as well as the ISIS crisis in Syria. Emma Watson Actress & U.N. Goodwill Ambassador ENTERTAINMENT & POLITICS A newly appointed U.N. Women Goodwill Ambassador, Emma Watson gave an impassioned speech on feminism and gender at the U.N. headquarters in New York to launch the "HeForShe" campaign which aims to galvanize one billion boys and men as advocates for ending the inequalities that women and girls face globally. Watson's speech, which was met with a thunderous standing ovation, not only called for action from male allies, but clarified a persistent misconception about feminism in general. Watson is potentially in an even better position than many of her peers to do so. Her role as Hermione Granger, the universally adored heroine of the Harry Potter series, gives her an automatic in with male and female millennials. is is a rare case where an actor being compared with their role might be a good thing. In this way, her widespread influence on young minds (still forming their opinions on gender roles and advocacy) is even stronger than other high-profile defenders of the F-word like Beyoncé. Watson is a wonderful new leader in the international march for equality for women around the world. Our favorite part of the speech, "If not me, then who?" We absolutely agree, if not us, then who?
