LUCIA S With Sanibel Island at the top of the list for best world wide destinations, it isn't any wonder that the islands of Southwest Florida continue to maintain its reputation as a domestic tropical paradise. Historically, Sanibel Island was occupied by the Calusa Indians. Footprints of the indigenous occupants, pirates and a Spanish Queen remain on the island with nearby museums, artifacts and a preserved lighthouse giving the island a romantic and mysterious quality. On the southwest coast of St. Lucia, overlooking the Caribbean Sea, Jade Mountain is a stunning escape located near many splendid attractions including the rainforest, botanical gardens, a sight-seeing volcano and sulphur springs.
