Mayor Bob Buckhorn an-
nounced that the Intown/
Framework Group, LLC
will invest $85 million to
create a new high-rise,
350-unit residential com-
plex in downtown Tampa. The parcel of land is currently the
right-of-way between Cass and Tyler streets. "Our partners,
from the Straz Center and the team at Intown/Framework,
share a vision for downtown. The project allows us to make
a strong physical and important visual connection between
Curtis Hixon and the Arts District to the Straz Center and
North Downtown," said Mayor Bob Buckhorn.

Channelside have proposed a 23-sto-
ry apartment project to include 320
units with luxury features on North
12th Street in downtown's Channel
district, between East Washington
and East Whiting streets.
Downtown Tampa may see the
opening of a sparkling new Le
Meridien high-end hotel, built inside
the former federal courthouse, by
June 1. One of the 130-plus hotel
rooms will rent for $160 to $300
depending on the season.
Florida created 21,480 service-
providing jobs and 3,750
goods-producing jobs in December.
Texas reported the largest
number of new private sector jobs
with 29,110, followed by Florida,
California and New York.
