Millionaires in Florida are a hardworking bunch. More than two thirds
earned their wealth mostly on their
own, according to a study released
by BMO Private Bank. A survey of
Floridians with assets to invest of
$1 million or more found that 68
percent are self-made; only 1 percent
attribute their wealth to receiving an
inheritance.

Center solidifies the University area
as the premier shopping destination

Development Company. "The shopping
center, in conjunction with the
Nathan Benderson Rowing Facility,

million mall is a partnership between
developers Taubman Centers and
University Park-based Benderson
Development Co., and is pegged for an
Oct. 16, 2014, opening. Initial anchors
include Saks Fifth Avenue, Dillard's and
Macy's with a fourth to be named soon.
As many as 100-plus specialty shops
and restaurants will also call the new
two-story mall home, over 50 percent of
which will be new to the area.
Rowers and other athletes,
restaurateurs and hoteliers celebrate
the announcement that the Sarasota
Nathan Benderson Park has been
choosen to stage the 2017 World
Rowing Championship. The venue
under construction at Benderson
Park, located at Interstate 75 and
University Parkway, will be the only
Class A tournament-sanctioned rowing
course in North America. The event's
economic impact has been estimated
to be between $25 million and $100
million.
