The length of the resulting "chain-link"-like base should be equal to the diameter of the wearer's head. Tie a length of decorative ribbon to each end of the jute-covered-wire base, to tie the fl ower crown snugly onto the wearer's head. DESIGN TIP: You can also use chenille stems or other fi ber-covered wire to create the base, but this jute-covered wire creates a stronger, sturdier base on which to glue the fl owers. Ste 2 Lay the jute-covered-wire base out fl at. Apply adhesive dashes or strips to the entire length of one side of the base, and then press Eucalyptus leaves, in a slightly overlapping manner, onto the adhesive dashes or strips. This creates a smooth surface for the back of the fl ower crown, making it comfortable to wear. DESIGN TIP: You can also glue the leaves to the base with liquid fl oral adhesive, but using adhesive strips or dashes is quicker and less messy. Ste 3 Flip the jute-covered-wire base over so that the leaf-covered side is down. Begin gluing spray roses onto the exposed wire side of the base with liquid fl oral adhesive, starting with the largest and most-open blooms. Ste 4 Glue in sprigs of waxfl ower and individual green Pittosporum leaves, to camoufl age any exposed mechanics and to give the design a fuller and fi nished look. BOTANICALS • Rosa spp. 'Be Loving' (spray rose) from Rosaprima • Rosa spp. 'Sahara Sensation' (spray rose) from Rosaprima • Chamelaucium uncinatum (waxfl ower, Geraldton waxfl ower) • Pittosporum tobira (Japanese Pittosporum, Australian laurel, mock orange) • Eucalyptus spp. leaves (eucalypt, Australian gum, gum tree) HARD GOODS • OASIS ® UGLU ™ Adhesive Strips or Dashes • OASIS ® Floral Adhesive • Jute-covered wire (alternatively, chenille stems or OASIS ™ Rustic Wire) • Ribbon Materials
