S
ince I've worked in
marketing for the better
part of 30 years, fall has
traditionally been the
season during which I personally
make plans and help my clients chart strategies for the coming year.
I'm a big advocate of setting clear, precise goals. It's vital that, at
least once a year, all business owners assess their revenue streams
and challenge themselves to see if there are better ways to maximize
profi ts or fi nd new streams that will add to their bottom lines.
One revenue stream to consider adding—or beefi ng up—is gift
baskets. In our article, " e Art of Gift Baskets," we off er some creative
design and marketing ideas for this segment—which is a natural for
fl ower shops—that can generate serious sales and profi ts.
For those of you in the weddings and events sectors of the fl orist
industry, you are, probably, in the thick of a busy fall wedding season.
To inspire you, we showcase our "Autumn Weddings Contest" winners
and their incredible work in this issue. If decorating homes and offi ces
for the holidays is a part of your business, we present some trending
looks to consider in our article "Deck the Halls." And if you need some
merchandising ideas, we share some tricks of the trade from display
artists in our "Market Snapshot: Visual Display Inspiration."
In the coming months, we will have lots of ideas to share with you
to help grow your business in 2023. In fact, we have some exciting
plans for 2023 ourselves! Soon we will launch the "Florists' Review
Collection," a new line of products for fl orists, and our new podcast,
"Flower Hour with Florist's Review."
Finally, as always, I must thank everyone who contributed to this
beautiful issue and, especially, our loyal subscribers and marketing
partners, who make it all possible!
