The family behind Palace Florists has been cultivating beautiful moments with floral art and design in the greater
Washington, D.C. metropolitan area for 79 years. Barney Klateman began Palace Florists in 1943 and
continued to grow the business throughout the years. His daughter, Donna, worked in the business with him,
and when she married her husband, Steve Dolgoff, he joined soon after. Unfortunately, Barney passed two
years later; however, Donna and Steve continued with his vision. Later, Donna and Steve's daughter Beth came
on, and her husband, Lee Herman, joined the family business in 1994. Growing and expanding the family
business has always been a priority of each generation of the Klateman clan, a philosophy that Barney created
early on.
Lee Herman met Art Conforti, PFCI, several years ago at Teleflora's "RTI Tech Conference," and after listening
to several of Art's talks and speaking with him personally, Lee forged an immediate business connection with Art.
When the pandemic hit and Washington, D.C. shut down, corporate and event sales immediately dried up for
Palace Florists. The venerable company needed results, with no room for excuses—just results. The Herman's
decided they needed a new marketing company with an integral knowledge of the floral business and that
focused entirely on generating sales. Art and Bloomerang Solutions fit that description to a T.
Art and Palace Florists have a great working relationship. "After a few meetings, Art had a handle on our
business and what we needed in order to immediately turn things around during that unprecedented time,"
Lee acknowledges. "Not only does Art focus on the business aspect but he has also really taken a feel for our
family business as if it was his own."
