6 January 2022 welcome A nother new year has arrived, and for Florists' Review, it's an especially exciting and historic one—our 125th anniversary. e start of a new year always provides boundless opportunities for growth and improvement, re-evaluation and self-assessment, and as we dive headlong—optimistically and excitedly—into 2022, I fi nd myself awed by the signifi cance of being in business for 125 years. rough World Wars, depressions and recessions, and devastating plagues, Florists' Review has never missed an issue. Florists' Review has never missed an issue. Florists' Review In more than 4,600 issues, FR has continuously provided new content to its readers, to inspire and help them in their fl oristry endeavors. Our current team at FR is honored— and eager—to carry on the tradition! We're kicking off our yearlong anniversary celebration with this issue, which we've packed with fascinating features—including a glimpse of the founding of FR, along with photos from every decade along the way. We've also thoughtfully—and painstakingly!—culled a fi rst-of-its-kind list of 125 fl orists from across North America and the U.S. Territories whom we deem to be among the most progressive and exciting "torchbearers" in our industry today. In celebration of the new year, you'll fi nd a feature containing 22 modern business management ideas that will help you take your business to even higher levels of professionalism and success in 2022. And, as always, you'll fi nd tons of fl oral design inspiration, to nurture your creative soul and spirit. Perhaps, though, the most anticipated feature in our January issues is the highly regarded "American Floral Trends Forecast"—which, beginning this year, becomes an annual trends report! Since its inception 18 years ago, in 2004, the previously biennial AFTF has been the standard among fl ower industry trends reports as well as the go-to source for fl oral designers and product developers to discover emerging styles and looks. For this year, AFTF carries forward that tradition, showcasing the six most important style trends for our industry that you'll want to be aware of as you head off to market and update your store and off erings for today's increasingly savvy and sophisticated consumers. As we prepare to make this our best year ever, I extend my sincerest wishes to all our extended FR family and fl oral community for a happy, successful and, most important, family and fl oral community for a happy, successful and, most important, healthy new year. Rose compliments of Alexandra Farms
