Your guide to making holidays successful.

Getting Ready
No surprise: e keys to successful holidays in a flower shop are organization and preparation—that is, advance
organization and preparation! So, we're presenting this planning manual to help you get ready for what, hopefully,
will be your most profitable Christmas season ever (all indicators point to Christmas 2021 being a blockbuster for
florists!). And the information provided in this manual is applicable not only to Christmas but to all holidays.
For Christmas, many florists begin prepping and planning their purchasing, merchandising and marketing strategies
well in advance. Most successful florists start planning no later than six months prior to the holiday, and others begin
nine to 12 months before the holiday! Yes, there are florists who start planning in January for the following Christmas,
immediately after the just-ended season, while things are fresh in their minds, before any remaining seasonal
inventory is packed away, and in preparation for buying trips to the winter gift shows.
