houseplants, and the floral industry expects the
19-to-40-year-old consumer demographic—
approximately one-third of the U.S. population—
to sustain their interest in houseplants, as
both self-purchases and gifts, for some time
to come. Similarly, younger generations working in the floral industry (or those
considering a career in floriculture) are proving to be influential in the increased
sales of foliage and flowering houseplants.
