Feverish demand and pandemic-fueled shortages have many florists scrambling for supplies. As frenzied and frustrating as the situation may be for some, the disturbances in the supply chain and distribution are only temporary. Overall, the global floral industry is healthy, events are springing back to life and the general attitude is one of cautious optimism with a dash of pure joy now that post-pandemic lockdowns are behind us, let's hope! In this issue, we cast a wide net across the globe to find the hottest trends in floristry and some of the industry's brightest floral design stars. On the trends front, we identify several of the latest "sustainable" products for florists; distinctive design elements from Japan, which will add originality and uniqueness to your creations; and the latest news and products in "biophilic" design. Don't miss this feature! e 11 international floral designers profiled in this issue are among the most creative floral artists in the world, and they have shared some of their most innovative compositions, from cutting-edge modern designs to exquisite detailed creations that are sure to inspire you. What talent we have in our global community! And from designers right here in North America, we have selected three design projects, complete with step-by-step instructions, photos and even videos. We also feature the finalists and winner of our new "Best in Blooms" bimonthly flower design contest. More than 75 amazing floral designers from across the country applied for the competition, and selecting a winner was quite a challenge for our jury! In addition to the photos featured in this issue, the finalists' videos and tutorials are featured at Youtube.com/c/floristsreview. On the business and marketing sides, we offer useful tips and ideas for upgrading your delivery service, creating an authentic charitable marketing plan and using Instagram's newest feature. Beginning May 7, we will launch our new video educational series. We are expanding our educational resources to build a central platform for floral design education where florists can go to learn from the most creative and inspiring floral artists around the globe.
