For the theme "e Four Elements," I wanted to represent how
each is seen on Earth. I tried to capture the movement and feel
of each element while letting the flowers flow naturally. I chose
to have "water" flowing down, as if rain was falling from the
trees, which is represented by Delphinium florets suspended
from the corkscrew willow branches, then splashing the Earth
below (in the arrangement). To create the "droplets" of water,
I removed the Delphinium florets from the main stem, strung
them on 24-gauge wires, and then hooked the wires to the cork-
screw willow branches. Next, I wanted to represent the lushness
of the Earth, which I did with the stock, Bupleurum and flow-
ering kale. en, to complete the fire and air elements, I used
snapdragons, sunflowers and billy buttons to represent flames
flickering up opposite of the water. I used the shapes of the
snapdragons to represent the wind/air moving the fire upward.
