here's no doubt that Bronwyn Douglas, AIFD, CFD,
of Kistner's Flowers in Manhattan, Kan., brought the
outside indoors with this winning floral installation.
e bride and groom wanted "a slice of the Carolinas" for
their late October wedding reception—which they moved
from May due to COVID-19—at the Manhattan Country Club
overlooking Kansas's scenic Flint Hills. is was Kistner's only
wedding during the pandemic, so Douglas was all too happy
to oblige the couple by shipping boxes of wild Smilax direct
from the Carolinas to hang all over the walls and ceiling of
their country club reception space.
e glowing review from the bride herself says it all: "We
worked together to create exactly the reception I envisioned.
Seeing it come to life, I was speechless! e number of
compliments that we received that night—and still anytime
our reception comes up—shows how truly amazing
Kistner's work is!"
